Senior Portraits FAQs

Below are some frequently asked questions that we receive when someone inquires about our services. We hope this FAQ will be of use to you and answer any of your questions you may have. Please ask us if you have any other questions not listed.


Appointments:

Q:  How do I make an appointment to get my senior pictures taken?
A:  All you need to do is call to make an appointment.

Q:  Do my parents need to be with me while I get my photos taken?
A:  Yes. There needs to be at least one parent or guardian with you if you are a minor (under the age of 18) to fill out the contract, package forms, etc.

Q:  When should I schedule to get my senior pictures taken?
A:  The sooner the better. It is best to have them taken the summer before your senior year starts. This is because your yearbook prints are usually due within the first month or two once school starts in the fall.

Q:  What should I bring to my appointment?
A:  Depending upon which sitting you have chosen, bring the number of outfits you would like to wear in your pictures. Clothes that have wild, large, or bright patterns can be distracting and take the focus away from you. Please refrain from wearing logos. In addition, feel free to bring whatever items you would like to bring that express who you are. For example: Sports gear/uniform/letterman�s jacket, musical instruments, pets, car/truck, etc.

Q:  Do you take outdoor pictures?
A:  Yes. At this time, Jamie Lynn's Photography only takes outdoor pictures. These can be done at the location of your choice.

Q:  I do not live in the Tri-Cities. Do you travel and if so, what does it cost?
A:  We will travel outside of the Tri-Cities. The cost is our hourly rate of $50 for travel (to and from) and if necessary, room and board for the night.

Contracts/Forms/Deposits:

Q:  Why do I need to fill out a contract?
A:  A contract is filled out for several reasons. One is to reserve your date on our calendar. Our contracts serve as a release which allows us to take your picture. They specify exactly what package you are getting, solidify a price, and specify all of the terms and agreements decided upon.

Q:  Can I make payments or do I have to pay for my senior package in full?
A:  Although it is preferred to have orders paid in full, Jamie Lynn's Photography knows that it is not always feasible. We offer the ability to break up the cost of your package into two payments. We require that a 50% non-refundable deposit be paid at your sitting when you have your photos are taken. The balance is due once your proofs are ready for viewing. Additional print orders are due in full at the time the order is placed unless it was added to your original package and listed in your contract.

Sittings and Packages:

Q:  What is included in your sittings?
A:  There are several sittings available. They range from 10 poses un-mounted with one outfit in one location to 40 poses in proof books with five outfits in two locations. Additional locations and outfits can be added.

Q:  Are the sittings included in your packages or are they in addition to them?
A:  Our basic sittings I and II are included in our packages. Sittings can be upgraded in the packages, if you desire.

Q:  What happens if I need/want more than my packages offers?
A:  Jamie Lynn's Photography has created several packages for you to choose from. Additional items can be added to any package.

Proofs:

Q:  How long does it take to get my proofs back?
A:  It generally takes 2-4 weeks for your proofs to be ready for viewing. At that time, Jamie Lynn's Photography will contact you to schedule a time to pick them up. You will receive a packet of information including all the forms needed to order your package, as well as additional items you or your family may like to purchase.

Q:  Do I get to keep my proofs?
A:  Yes. In addition, Jamie Lynn's Photography does not require the proofs to make additional prints.

Q:  What format will my proofs be in?
A:  All proofs are 4x6 in size and include the proof number in the bottom corner of the print to allow for easier ordering. Depending upon the sitting chosen, your proofs will either be loose or mounted into a leather proof book. In addition, electronic proofs will be securely posted online for viewing by family and friends.

Additional Prints and Reorders:

Q:  What is the process to order additional prints?
A:  Upon receiving your proofs, you will receive additional order forms to order additional prints, albums, books, etc. Payment in full is due at the time the order is placed.

Q:  Is there a fee to reorder prints at a later time?
A:  No, we do not charge a reorder fee. We do require that a minimum order of $25.00 is placed to reorder prints. The cost of the prints would be the current price list at the time of the reorder.

Q:  Is there a minimum amount we need to order when we reorder prints?
A:  Yes. We require that a minimum order of $25.00 be placed to reorder prints.

Yearbook Pictures:

Q:  How do I go about getting my yearbook picture to the school?
A:  Jamie Lynn's Photography will either mail or email your yearbook to the yearbook staff teacher by the deadline depending upon the format requested by the school.

Q:  My yearbook picture is due to the school soon. Due you rush orders?
A:  Yes, Jamie Lynn's Photography will rush an order if necessary however, there is a 50% charge for all rush orders.

Ambassador Programs:

Q:  Do you have an ambassador program? What does it entail?
A:  Yes. With our ambassador program, students get a reduction in their photo package as well as credit towards additional prints for each person they refer. Applications for the ambassador program can be done anytime from January of their Junior year until August before their senior year. Students can take advantage of their referral credits until May 31st of their Senior year.
